Introduction

Hybrid rice breeding has undergone half a century development, produce a large numbers of germplasms, and achieve great achievement by breeding varieties with high grain yield and grain quality as well as adaptability to changed environment. We have sequenced and phenotyped 2,839 commercial hybrids here, which covering the whole breeding periods. Furthermore, 486 commercial parental lines (177 materials as male sterile lines or maintainer lines, and 309 as restorers) were also sequenced and phenotype under the same condition. Based on the large amount of resource, Rice Hybrid Resource Database (RHRD) were constructed. The site is a comprehensive database for hybrid rice and provides variety information, phenotype, variation, genotype and genome-wide association information for the whole collections. Our work aims to construct a platform that demonstrates diversity of hybrid rice, and further offers a valuable resource for modern hybrid rice breeding.
